The group aims to promote school attendance and contribute to improving the educational trajectories of children and young people in the country. It also aims to compile, generate, evaluate and disseminate information, assessment and intervention strategies to combat this problem.
This Tuesday, January 14, marked the beginning of the INSA Chile Network's 2025 work, an initiative that aims to promote school attendance and contribute to improving the educational trajectories of children and young people in the country.
During this meeting, the lines of action that will guide the work during the year were defined, as well as the commissions responsible for developing the main initiatives to be carried out jointly.
The INSA Chile Network is led since 2023 by Fundación Educacional Oportunidad and has as key members the Ministry of Education, the CIAE of the University of Chile, Fundación Educacional Arauco, Fundación Belén Educa and Fundación Presente.
The executive director of Fundación Educacional Oportunidad, María de la Luz González, said that "we are very excited about the work we are doing together with public institutions, academia and civil society organizations. Our planning has concrete initiatives that will be key to reduce the attendance gap, delivering strategies that have robust evidence of effectiveness".
For his part, the director of the CIAE of the University of Chile, Juan Pablo Valenzuela, added that the network "is an instance where we are learning together, we are a community of practice and where we want to have a stronger collaborative impact on public policies. It is the mechanism for us to close the gap with the pandemic faster and go further".
Likewise, Francisca Sánchez, representative of Fundación Educacional Arauco, emphasized that "we are very enthusiastic about the assistance work we are going to carry out this year in the network. We are leaving with concrete planning, with concrete products, so we believe that we will have an impact on improving student attendance, which is what we are most happy about".
Marianela Cisternas, from Fundación Belén Educa, added that "we are very excited and thank you for the strength you have put into this work so that we can give a concrete response to Chile's schools and improve attendance. That is why we will do everything we can to achieve great results".
From Fundación Presente, María Koch, pointed out that "Chile is already at the moment of being positioned as a country that works, that has evidence, that promotes class attendance, but also as a promoter and showcase of successful practices".
